Europe Retains Solheim Cup with Dramatic Tie

Team Europe retained the Solheim Cup in 2023 with a dramatic 14-14 tie against Team USA at Finca Cortesin Golf Club in Casares, Spain. It was the third time in the last four editions that the Cup had been tied, and it was a fitting result for a tournament that was incredibly close throughout.


The Europeans trailed by two points after the first day of competition, but they fought back to level the scores at 8-8 after the second day. The singles matches on the final day were all-square with three matches to play, and it all came down to the match between Carlota Ciganda of Europe and Nelly Korda of the USA.
