PGA Championship 2022 - Preview

The second major, at Southern Hills, of the year is just days away and after a very low scoring competition on the PGA Tour this weekend that's just been a number of players have put their name forward to be considered.

Scottie Scheffler

Do I need to right anything for this man? His record this year has been outstanding. He had a little break after winning The Masters and came back this weekend to finish in the T15 and back in 2019 he said Southern Hills is probably his favourite golf course...... If his form continues this championship is his to lose really.

Collin Morikawa

His major record has been outstanding, 4 top 5's in his last 6 with 2 of them being wins. He has found a little more form lately with his awesome iron play but his issues begin when he misses the green. He sits 191st on the strokes gained around the greens, a stat he will need to improve to do well this week. Southern Hills went through some changes making the fairways wider and the greens and surrounds trickier. If his iron play holds up he will have a change, if he misses the green he could miss the cut.

Jon Rahm

Since becoming world number 1 his form began to drift a little. Last year was a great year becoming world number 1 and picking up his first major. This year has been a little bit harder for him but getting the win in Mexico will give him a real boost heading into this week.

Jordan Spieth

When it comes to Jordan you just never know. His game isn't anywhere near where it was but yet he is still grinding hard to get back to winning ways and throws in some good results. He will be annoyed he couldn't get the job done over the weekend, ultimately finishing 2nd but it will give him a big boost heading into the PGA.

For me I can't see anyone except Scottie Scheffler winning again, his form and game seem to be in such a good place and he's coming into a course that he loves.
